Starters

 

Homemade Pate: Smooth Chicken Pate served with a Red Onion Marmalade, mixed Salad Leaves and Toasted Brioche.

 

Potted Game: Potted layers of Venison, Duck, Guinea Foul and Corn Fed Chicken with spiced apple & pear chutney, mixed Salad Leaves and Toasted Brioche.

 

Alternative to above Soup of Day

 

Fish Platter: Springs Smoked Salmon, Gravelax & Poached Salmon on a bed of Rocket Leaves & a Citrus Crème Fresh dressing.

 

Warm Kedgeree Salad: Smoked Haddock flaked over mixed leaves, a timbale of Pilau Rice, topped with a poached egg and dressed with a lightly curried cream sauce.

 

Baked Goats Cheese: Coated in cracked peppercorns & honeyed breadcrumbs, served with rocket leaves, sun blushed tomatoes & roasted pepper salad with a balsamic vinegarette dressing.

 

Avocado, Tomato & Mozzarella Salad: With toasted Pine Nuts & Parmesan Shavings - salad leaves

Main Dishes

 

Duo of Duck: Roasted Breast & Confit Leg of Duck served with a Plum Sauce, Rosti Potato & Buttered Vegetables.

 

Traditional Fish & Chips: Beer Battered Cod with Chips & Garden Peas

 

Stuffed Chicken: Corn Fed Chicken Breast stuffed with wild mushrooms & wrapped in parma ham on a bed of wilted spinach, a white wine & garlic sauce and daphoise potato

 

Shepherd & Dog Homemade Burger: Chef’s homemade burger with a choice of toppings, cheese, mushrooms or bacon served with chips and salad garnish.

 

Vegetarian Lasagne: Roasted peppers, aubergine & mozzarella layered with fresh pasta

 

Half Shoulder of Lamb: Served with a homemade ratatouille & rosemary roasted potatoes. Alternative to above Lamb Stew

 

Fish Mornay: Fish (& prawns) in cheese sauce, new potatoes buttered veg.

 

Sausages & Mash: Chef’s choice of sausages for the week with a trio of creamed potatoes, grain mustard, sweet potato & spring onion served with red onion gravy sprinkled with parsnip crisps.

 

10oz Rib Eye Steak: 10oz Rib Eye Steak with tomato, onion rings mushrooms & chips.  Choice of sauces: garlic butter, blue cheese or peppercorn sauce.
